Amika Mobile's award winning Amika Mobility Server (AMS) for critical
and emergency alerting is to be deployed at City Hall in Quinte West
and is to be leveraged by City Quinte West EMS, Fire & Police OPP
Detachment. AMS will work in conjunction with the PRISM-911
residential callout system currently operational at the City Quinte
West. This project has been partly funded by DRDC-CSS which is joint
program of DND and Public Safety Canada.
"The deployment of the AMS in conjunction with PRISM-911 will greatly
benefit both City Hall employees as well as the approximately 42,000
residents of the City Quinte West because the AMS can also alert
mobile users directly on their handsets as well as users on their
computers through pop-ups," stated Amika Mobile CEO Dr. Sue
Abu-Hakima.
"AMS with PRISM-911 will bring important additional functionality to
our mass notification at the City Quinte West. Focussing on getting
critical alerts to our employees at City Hall and mobilizing alerts
will significantly benefit our community ." said Ed Woods from City
Quinte West ITS.
According to Gartner's January 2012 Market Scope report, emergency
mass notification is now a Best Practice - closing 2011 at $650
Million in the US alone. Gartner also points out the importance of
personalized critical and emergency notification.
About Amika Mobile Amika Mobile is privately held specializing in
critical and emergency mass notification solutions. AMS is ideal for
communities, airports, sports arenas, shopping centers and campuses

Database pre-registration is described as the Achilles' heel of
emergency mass notification. The AMS alerts over 16 layers including
WiFi, SMS, Email, VoIP, PA systems, Message Boards, Twitter, RSS
Feeds, Facebook, etc. The AMS also triggers alerts based on disparate
sensor events from fire panels, cameras, access control, etc. AMS
also monitors local weather through CAP-CP, NAADS, NOAA, etc.
Emergency and critical alerts are ideal for those concerned with
public safety and security. Amika Mobile has won 12 awards and sells
products through partners, system integrators and OEMs to service
