ClickDesk Live Chat Service Integrates Skype Chat Functionality

By Jayashree Adkoli, TMCnet Contributor

In a recent blog on Skype (News - Alert).com, Peter Parkes had cited that there were 30 million people online on Skype at the same time. Last year, there were more than 29 million people using it online. Cashing in on its trend, ClickDesk , a social live chat service whose clients use Skype for business, has included complete integration with Skype to its multichannel customer support offer.

As the support cloud from 2Desk, ClickDesk has the objective to facilitate startups and small businesses to provide rapid sales and product support to their customers across channels - live-chat, phone, email and social media.

By integrating the Skype chat functionality with ClickDesk live chat service, customer agents will now be able to handle support requests directly from their Skype accounts. With this, 9,000 businesses using ClickDesk now have the ability to reach customers directly over Skype Chat. And, a total of over 663 million Skype users will now have a chance to provide exceptional customer service directly over their Skype accounts.

Rocky Gupta, product evangelist at ClickDesk, said in a statement, "What makes ClickDesk unique is that we are able to offer business of all sizes, a true multichannel customer support solution, helping improve both sales retention and customer service levels. By allowing customer support agents to receive live chat and calls directly over Skype or GTalk, ClickDesk has significantly increased the number of touch points through which your agent can engage with visitors on your website."

Integrating social communications and voice chat support (VoIP) into a live chat service, ClickDesk will now continue to gain momentum as a communication channel and a tool, said officials with the company. Apart from Skype, ClickDesk also features integrated Social Tabs to display connectivity with LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter (News - Alert).

ClickDesk is a complete cloud based service. This eliminates the need for business owners to install any additional hardware or software. It is currently hosted in Google (News - Alert) and Amazon cloud with backups in Singapore and Ireland.

Branded "an extension to your social media presence or website" by Network World, the ClickDesk service plans start at $9, 99 per month, and just $1 for the first 90 days.

According to the source, ClickDesk has attracted over 9,000 business clients in less than six months. It is currently generating more than 250 requests per second for Multichannel Customer Support. It is also listed among the "Top 10 must have plugins of 2011" by TheProgrammingBlog.com.
