Welcome to the latest edition of TMCnet’s Unified Communications Software Week in Review – where you’ll find a brief rundown of all the top stories related to UC from the past week.

This week, unified communications and collaboration solutions provider NextUC made headlines when it announced achieving record growth in web meetings and video conferencing last month.

During the month of February, the company said customers using their Next UC video conferencing solutions increased 191 percent. In addition, their audio conferencing solution use also increased by 131 percent – a testament to the fact that people are getting smarter about cutting costs, saving the environment, and being more efficient in the office.

Also this week, Cisco (News - Alert) and Intelbras announced they are partnering to bring UC solutions to Brazil.

According to company officials, this move is in response to the need for easier adoption of IP among SMBs in Brazil and will offer mobility options as well as voicemail, auto attendant options, call routing and VoIP.

Specifically, the deal will mean Intelbras can sell the Cisco Business Edition 3000 (BE3000) under the CIP60300 brand beginning in April.

Altair Silvestri, CEO of Intelbras said, “The integration of Cisco technology into the Intelbras IP phones and gateways is the start of a solid cooperative effort to bring innovations into the local market, including those that involve IT expertise, engineering, and research and development.”

Also this week, a special byline from Sandra Gustavsen was a featured on TMCnet which takes a closer look at ShoreTel’s (News - Alert) recent entrance into the Cloud UC market. Check out the analysis HERE.
