Polycom Provides UC Solution to LOTOS Group

Polycom (News - Alert) is providing a total unified communications solution to LOTOS Group, a major producer and supplier of oil products across Poland and abroad.

Polycom is a global provider of open standards-based unified communications (UC). The company will better connect the Group’s offices and 5,000 employees to increase productivity through video collaboration.

NextiraOne (News - Alert), a Polycom certified partner, was selected to implement a total unified communications solution to drive video collaboration throughout the organization.

Before implementing the solution from Polycom, LOTOS Group sought a secure and reliable videoconferencing solution that could provide anywhere, anytime connectivity and collaboration to its employees.

LOTOS Group decided all its employees use Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync on their desktop PCs, which connect with Polycom RealPresence video solutions to provide a true unified communications experience.

"Our decision to work with Polycom on this project was determined by the ease of integration and scalability of its products,” said Lukasz Nowakowski, IT Coordinator, LOTOS. “We wanted to add the videoconferencing services without impacting our existing network."

Thanks to Polycom, the employees of the LOTOS Group can easily check if their colleagues are present on their desks. The solution also allows them to initiate or join a high-definition videoconference from their PC.

Polycom’s solutions deliver advanced features and HD video, voice and content-sharing to make visuals more lifelike and meetings more productive.

"Polycom solutions enable more effective face-to-face meetings," said Tadeusz Rogaczewski, head of the IT Management Department, LOTOS.

Polycom was in the news earlier this month for helping Southeast Kansas Education Service Center bring distance learning to 55,000 students in rural communities though the power of video collaboration.
