eircom, one of Ireland's top telecom providers, has announced it is forming a strategic alliance with PGi, a provider of virtual meeting technologies.
eircom will offer PGi's suite of video, Web and audio conferencing solutions, including iMeet and GlobalMeet, to business customers in Ireland. The company has around two million subscribers among its three brands: eircom, eMobile and Meteor.
“eircom is committed to offering the most up to date technology and innovative solutions to our customers,” said Peter Smyth, director of marketing & product development for eircom. “The new range of products will be of huge benefit to our business customers and will undoubtedly lead to greater efficiencies for them. In today's business environment, where managing time and costs are key, more and more businesses are moving toward Web- and audio-based meetings, and our new services facilitate these requirements.”
PGi, or Premier Global Services Inc., provides cloud-based, real-time virtual collaboration. Its iMeet product offers secure video conferencing for up to 15 people at once on desktops, tablets and other mobile devices. It doesn't require that guests install any software, and its “Connect Me” feature automatically calls users without the need for phone numbers or passcodes. PGi already has a global presence in 25 countries and over 35,000 enterprise companies. Seventy-five percent of them are Fortune 100 companies.
"eircom has incredible scale and a strong enterprise customer base in Ireland, which is a solid complement to PGi's deep expertise in the virtual meetings space,” said John Stone, PGi EVP Europe & Managing Director. “Together, we look to provide Irish companies with solutions that help them collaborate in more meaningful ways while increasing business productivity."
