Welcome to the latest edition of TMCnet’s Unified Communications Software Week in Review – where you’ll find a brief rundown of all the top stories related to UC from this past week.


This week, BT (News - Alert) Conferencing announced its plans to grow its U.S. conferencing channel partner program which makes it possible for partners to resell their audio, Web, streaming video and video conferencing services.

Also, Sify (News - Alert) and Vidyo announced the launch of a new, Video Conferencing-as-a-Service offering for enterprises and emerging businesses.

The offering, Sify Videomeet, makes it possible to have anytime, anywhere high-definition video collaboration in HD without the need for dedicated networks or multiple devices.

In related news, Vidyo (News - Alert) also announced it added a new investment partner. Juniper Networks (News - Alert) is now a strategic investor in the company along with lead investor QuestMark Partners as well as Menlo Venture, Rho Ventures, Star Ventures, and Four Rivers Group.

This investment comes as an extension of the company’s fourth round and will make it possible to integrate their video conferencing products with Juniper offerings as well as increase their go-to-market activities.

Unified communications software provider, Fidelus was spotlighted this week in a feature article by TMCnet’s Beecher Tuttle that looked at some of the features offered by the company’s Remote Phone (News - Alert) Control software including intuitive provisioning, management and troubleshooting.

Finally, Art Rosenberg offers his analysis on video conferencing as a UC-enabled option in a feature column this week.
