There are few technologies in the business world currently as popular as Cloud storage. Companies all over the world seek new and different ways to use the technology. A new study now suggests one of the best ways in which cloud storage could be used is in partnership with Unified Communications.
The problem is that most people do not understand all that UC technology can do, but those who have found some of the capabilities realize that the Cloud can help users of UC tech immensely.
CompTIA just released a report detailing just how useful Cloud computing can be when teamed up with Unified Communications (News - Alert) tech. The study says that interest in UC is hitting an all-time high with about 80 percent of all companies seeing some sort of value in the tech. There are even higher numbers of companies who see the value of UC when they are a larger firm or they have a higher number of employees who telecommute.
Seth Robinson, director of technology analysis at CompTIA (News - Alert), put the study into context within Unified Communication and the Cloud. "It's about having a set of communications tools that serve various needs, then having those tools very tightly integrated with each other," Robinson said. "A company may choose to have many or few endpoint tools depending on their needs. So adoption of unified communications is more accurately viewed on a scale considering the number of tools being used and the degree that they work together."
This is the reason Robinson believes his study shows that using the Cloud could drive adoption of a technology that most people want but don’t really know how to implement without it costing the company an arm and a leg. Quite a bit of the adoption problem has to do with the amount of money it could take.
With the number of different ways in which the Cloud can come in handy, it seems like a no-brainer that two technologies, which can be used from multiple access points, would be able to aid a business in need.
