According to VoIP Supply, a North American supplier of VoIP and integrated communication systems to small and medium-sized businesses (SMB), will now have access to a subscription-based telepresence service called Cisco TelePresence Callway, part of the Cisco (News - Alert) Collaboration Cloud that aims to offer video communication solutions in the cloud without the associated video infrastructure equipment.
SMBs looking to cut on overhead costs and complexity of deployment associated with video communication solutions, as well as the accompanying IT experience and management, can benefit from this new offering.
Cisco TelePresence Callway will allow businesses to make video calls with up to 12 participants for a monthly fee, and offer customized URIs such as [email protected]. Videoconferencing can take place over standard-based systems with partners or customers outside the organization. Any user with the Cisco Jabber Video installed on a compatible computer will also be able to listen in.
Callway will offer subscribers unlimited desktop sharing capabilities and unlimited video calling while turning the subscription into a hosted VoIP service that allows unlimited outgoing phone calls at only $9 per month.
In addition, businesses will be able to enjoy HD video with crisp audio that comes with media encryption for secure video conferencing. They no longer need to hire a specialized IT expertise to set up the video calling service, as an intelligent cloud service already does that for them.
The offering comes with business-class customer service from Cisco.
“Cisco TelePresence Callway delivers the benefits that a cloud service should,” said Garret Smith, chief marketing officer at VoIP Supply. “Among the benefits he mentioned include its rapid return on investment and ease of use.”
Smith said its simplicity helps “easily strengthen important relationships that require that ‘in-person’ communication experience – without all the fuss and cost of IT staff.”
