GraphEffect Receives $12 Million Funding

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

GraphEffect is a social media company formed in 2010 by Clark Landry and James Borow. The company is backed by venture capital firms Lerer Ventures, Thrive Capital, Founder Collective, Rincon Venture Partners, CrossCut Ventures, Baroda Ventures, DFJ Frontier and Siemer Ventures. The company has offices in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago.

Recently, the company announced that it received a $12 million round of financing led by Rincon Venture Partners. Rincon's Jim Andelman will be joining GraphEffect's board of directors. The young company is able to produce considerable revenue on its own; its revenue has more than tripled year-over-year, the company has announced.

GraphEffect is looking forward to generate $40-50 million this year. This will be an increase from $12 million last year and $1.6 million in 2010, when the company was formed. The company is an enterprise collaboration platform for social media marketers.  It collaborates with brands such as American Express (News - Alert), Red Bull and Toyota to help them promote their products and services on Twitter and Facebook efficiently, the company stated in a press release.

“You have media buyers, ad agencies and Facebook (News - Alert) representatives," says co-founder James Borow of GraphEffect, in a press release released by the company.  "There are too many cooks in the kitchen.  We help parties across all of the organizations work together on the social media marketing initiatives," he continued.

Recently, the company announced new Twitter (News - Alert) offerings at the ad:tech conference in San Francisco. Here, the company was nominated as a "Start Up Spotlight Finalist." Allowing a scalable solution for brands to run advertising campaigns on Twitter, GraphEffect's AudienceBoost is the company’s first offering which facilitates brands to unveil new interest targets for their promoted Tweets and promoted accounts. American Express and Digitas (News - Alert) beta tested the new offering during last month's successful American Express Twitter Sync campaign.
