Formicary Introduces MindLink at Enterprise 2.0 Conference

By Madhubanti Rudra, TMCnet Contributor

Formicary Collaboration Group, a provider of team-based social collaboration solutions unveiled a new enterprise social collaboration platform, called MindLink.

The product has been designed to foster secure, streamlined, team-based communication and collaboration through a company's existing Microsoft (News - Alert) environment and unified communications solution, Formicary clarified during the launch at the Enterprise 2.0 Conference.

In contrast to social networking, which connects people on the individual, peer-to-peer level, MindLink has been designed to facilitate multi-layered discussions between groups of people within an organization, the company explained in a press release.

The traditional e-mail and social networking technology tools have many limitations, when it comes to working for meeting common business goals by individual team members. They're not ideal for interactive, team-based collaboration. MindLink, on the other hand, has been designed to support efficient communication among groups and frequently becomes the preferred mode of communications for groups working on common activities and goal.

MindLink allows the knowledge workers within an organization to build engaged team- and interest-based communities and create more powerful and efficient group collaboration than traditional e-mail and social networking tools.

Enterprises are increasingly employing social collaboration tools to drive business productivity. But security, adoption and compliance issues remain major stumbling blocks for a wider adoption of these tools. Built on Microsoft Lync, MindLink is fast and easy to implement. It integrates into employees' daily workflow and processes, supporting high user adoption. Available as either an on-premise or private cloud solution, it also addresses the enterprise data security concerns.

FCG said that organizations without large IT departments or existing Microsoft infrastructure also can take advantage of MindLink's power through FCG's first U.S. hosted service provider, Saratoga Springs, NY-based Thoughtbus. Already, Thoughtbus customers are preparing to implement MindLink throughout their organizations.

“We're always pursuing the promise of social software and its related power to empower collaboration. To have MindLink's social platform integrated with Thoughtbus' powerful collaboration service for our e-mail, SharePoint, mobile and Lync helps us streamline our business process for local and remote staff as well as for customer contacts and subcontracted teams,” president of SureTech.com, Alberto Molina explained in a statement.

MindLink is available immediately on a per-user subscription basis, its maker informed in a release.
