Unified communications allows companies to save travel time for their employees and engage them in more productive work. It also saves a considerable amount of money as staff need not have to travel for meetings or pay for a hotel.
Now, many employees feel that this emerging technology may even increase their productivity, according to a new report from Powwownow. The company stated in its report that about 57 percent of employers are looking at unified communication technology to replace their current travels to work.
By integrating all devices under one roof, companies can also potentially improve collaboration and productivity among co-workers, partners, suppliers and customers.
According to the report, 54 percent of those surveyed believe work life would be easier if there was a central system through which to feed all communications.
“Times are changing and today's workforce has to adapt in order to stay ahead,” said Simon Curry, CEO at Powwownow. “We have an abundance of technology at our fingertips and UC will only make it easier now for businesses to streamline communications and in turn be in a better position to service customers. UC is on its way to becoming an integral cog in the way businesses communicate; it's up to us not to resist.”
In 2010, TMC’s (News - Alert) Raja Singh Chaudhary reported that the company published a report where it found that people are put off using conference calls by other attendees' anti- social behavior. The behavior consists of swearing, noisy eating, sniffing and heavy breathing. According to the company, this was unsuitable on conference calls during a poll of its Premium customers. The conference calling facilities offered by Powwownow follow the ethos of no booking, no billing and no fuss.
