Earlier this summer, unified communications provider Fidelus announced they had successfully merged their voice and video dial plans, making it easier for parties to collaborate over video instead of just over voice.
The technology is rather simple. All users need to do is dial their requested party’s designated 4-digit extension. Should that user have a video endpoint, like Cisco’s (News
- Alert) ex60, the user can pick up the call via video.
“A unified, single voice & video dial plan is nirvana for businesses today with disparate or inadequately integrated voice and Video solutions. This makes leveraging video here at Fidelus easy…even for me” said Ron Rosansky President and CEO Fidelus Technologies, at the time of release.
Fidelus is a key provider in the unified communications software space. Backed by 10 years of enterprise class solutions. When it comes to unified communications software, Fidelus bases its technology on the benefits UC brings, including better collaboration, communication, easier access, and presence.
By unifying their voice and video dial offerings, businesses can take better advantage of their investments in their video solutions.
“Unifying the voice and video dial plan is the first and most important step to video becoming the next voice,” said Tom Bamert, CTO Fidelus Technologies.
The company was recognized earlier in the year the 2011 Unified Communications (News - Alert) Excellence Award from Unified Communications magazine, a publication of Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC).
The award was merited based on Fidelus’ Console Operator, a Unified Communications desktop application that allows an operator to efficiently manage multiple incoming and outgoing calls. Fidelus Console Operator was designed to give the market an easy-to-use, lightweight alternative to the end-of-life Cisco Attendant Console for business environments upgrading to Cisco Unified Communications Manager 8.
“The Unified Communications Excellence Award identifies Fidelus as a leader and a company who should be called first by anyone seeking the highest quality products and services,” commented Rich Tehrani CEO/Editor-in-Chief of TMC (News - Alert). “They have demonstrated outstanding achievement in providing IP communications solutions, and we congratulate the entire Fidelus team for achieving this award”
