Video Guidance Expands Video Conferencing Services to Include Skype, GoogleTalk

By Mandira Srivastava, TMCnet Contributor

Recognized by Minnesota Business magazine as "One of the Best Companies to Work For" and The Business Journal as one of the "50 Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies," Video Guidance is delighted to announce new services allowing its customers to host multiple individual conferences and collaborate on mobile devices.

This new service will offer integrated video conferencing to consumer-based Skype (News - Alert) and GoogleTalk video users.

The new service offers video guidance's customers additional ways to videoconference between their desktop PCs, mobile devices and high-end video conferencing room systems.

Founded in 1999, Video Guidance is an independent partner of Cisco (News - Alert), Polycom and LifeSize, and maintains strategic alliances with Conference Plus, On Stream Media Corporation, VQ Communications and Accordent.

"Adding Skype and GoogleTalk further expands our capabilities to include an even wider range of users that will now be able to take advantage of our virtual video rooms (vRooms) as well as our managed conferencing services," said Mike Werch, president and CEO at Video Guidance.  "Now, employees and customers can collaborate virtually on most popular devices, which increases productivity because they can communicate anytime, anywhere."

Video Guidance has integrated its VG Connect service to support Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync.

VG Connect is full-service, multi-point conferencing solution that works as connection point among different videoconferencing systems, standards and devices together.

"A huge benefit of adding Skype and GoogleTalk is that it eliminates any new or additional video conferencing hardware or financial investment in video bridges, which are already included with VG Connect," added Werch.

VG Connect's cloud-based services enables participants to join in video conferencing session – no matter where, when or what standard-based device is used – without the burden of owning the technology.
