Comstor, the business unit of Westcon Group (News - Alert), recently announced that it has successfully expanded operations into the Philippines. Comstor is a value added distributor of unified communications, network infrastructure, data center and security solutions.

Comstor (News - Alert) has been offering Cisco's suite of products and services for the last 20 years and has been widely successful in enabling its global network of partners to benefit from new revenue opportunities.

In a release, Wendy O'Keeffe (News - Alert), EVP, Asia Pacific, Westcon Group, said that, "Since FY2008, we've seen revenues across our Asia Pac business grow more than 90 percent. Much of this can be attributed to our strong local presence, supported by a seamless global infrastructure. We're pleased to now put this powerful combination to work for Cisco (News - Alert) – helping drive their presence in this increasingly important region."

Westcon Group provides its Asia Pacific-based clients with unique programs and technical resources as well as financial support which make it easy for them to drive their business through an extensive range of technology solutions. Comstor's foray into the Philippine market will allow local operators to provide customers with Cisco solutions such as switches, routers, and software thus enabling the customers to further strengthen an intelligent integrated network.

Comstor's portfolio of Cisco products include everything from data center switching and storage to virtualization platforms, as well as virtualized communications, and advanced security solutions. This suite of products is further enhanced via an extensive services portfolio which includes logistics, pre-sales, technology integration, as well as marketing services and finance.

Jessica Powell, Country Manager is heading Westcon Group’s operations in the Philippines and will report directly to Albert Tan.
