Unified Messaging Tool Handles Up to 30 Participants

By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Attention multi-office organizations: You now have a way of handling your unified messaging a little bit better.

Officials of Epygi (News - Alert) say the Quadro CS SIP conference server “enables voice conferencing of up to 30 participants in one or more simultaneous call clusters.”

Can your current system do that?

The product can also host multiple conferences, company officials say, with participants “gaining access through an auto-attendant... a single Quadro CS can be shared across multiple global workgroups.”

Earlier this month TMC’s (News - Alert) Calvin Azuri reported that Epygi Technologies announced the launch of QX1000 pure SIP enterprise IP PBX. Epygi is a provider of IP PBXs, gateways and conference servers. This product can support a wide range of advanced business features and can support up to 1000 IP extensions.

Enterprise-grade features like Video/Audio conferencing, Barge-in, ACD for call centers, Call recording, XML API, Find-me Follow-me, Microsoft (News - Alert) Outlook integration and softphone support is supported by QX1000. There are no traditional ports directly into the system as this is a pure SIP.

The Quadro CS is being pitched as a way for businesses to reduce “significant” costs over traditional network-based conferencing services, since those usually require a monthly fee.

And the product has the kind of features you normally see on more expensive products, such as automatic dial-out to participants to connect conference rooms and participants in multiple locations for regularly scheduled conferences, as well as the ability to record a conference.

Users can password protect conferences as well, and operate in lecture mode, where the moderator can permit only one person to speak: “This feature, popular for analyst calls and CEO state of the union addresses, is usually found only on considerably more costly systems,” company officials say.
