Multiple communication channels and platforms spread throughout an organization demands a unified approach to ensure proper cost management and optimal communications control. This is a key focus within Unified Communications (News - Alert) that easily extends to unified messaging.

SoTel Systems is one company focused on delivering unified messaging solutions. At the upcoming ITEXPO West event in Austin next week, the company will be exhibiting its latest SoSimple program at booth 927. The company will also set up a Siemens IP PBX (News - Alert) unit to demonstrate the power of its OpenScape Office MX platform.

SoTel just recently introduced its SoSimple program to the U.S. marketplace. This program is designed to enable small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to receive new VoIP telephony or Unified Communications platform equipment and business telephones whenever they sign a SoTel Systems (News - Alert) SIP connection contract.

This program helps to support unified messaging as it offers companies the opportunity to easily upgrade their current phone system, while also leveraging new technology, robust solutions and a proven serve at a lower cost than they were previously paying with a dial tone service provider.

“Going into 2011, most businesses still have tighter budgets than they had in previous years,” said Jim Goebel, CEO of SoTel Systems, in a company release. “With this new program, both SoTel Systems and our Value-Added Resellers (VARs) become true partners in our customers’ overall success - by helping them grow their business through driving down operating costs and allowing them to adopt cutting edge business communications technology with zero capital expenditure.”

This unified messaging provider will also focus on its Siemens (News - Alert) partnership at ITEXPO West, touting the benefits of its OpenScape Office MX. This platform is specifically designed to meet the needs of the SMB seeking features that allow for the easy and cost-effective management of diverse communications.

The platform offers a presence capability, and makes it easy to set up conference calls without call charges. Conferencing capabilities are handled through the OpenScape Office MX to reduce costs and increase productivity. The platform also integrates seamlessly with Microsoft (News - Alert) Outlook to support unified messaging and keep all scheduling and communications functions available on one screen.

This system is offered as a total solution package with a range of value-added features. SMBs can keep all contacts in one directory; key contacts can be managed in favorite lists; mobile and desk phone messages can be routed to one voice message box; faxes easily managed with a fax message box; immediate notifications sent when key messages or faxes arrive; a personal auto attendant and so much more.
