eBuddy Becomes Preferred Messaging Partner for Nokia

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

An independent Web and mobile messaging service, eBuddy (News - Alert) has become a preferred messaging partner for Nokia and will be launching four Nokia-related platforms of its latest mobile messaging solution, eBuddy XMS, in the near future.

Having seen more than 150 million unique downloads of its apps to date and well-known for its popular instant messaging solutions, eBuddy is one of the world’s most successful and popular mobile messaging services. eBuddy now aims to make eBuddy XMS, a free real-time mobile messaging solution, available to wider audiences, the company stated in a press release.

“We’re delighted to have eBuddy XMS soon available to all Nokia (News - Alert) users” stated Jan-Joost “JJ” Rueb, CEO and co-founder of eBuddy, in a company press release. “Partnering with the biggest handset manufacturer in the world reflects the strength of the eBuddy XMS proposition, and now supporting the majority of the mobile market allows us to make XMS the new norm in mobile messaging.”

eBuddy XMS allows for unlimited messaging via an Internet data connection. Users can add friends on the spot by scanning both their phonebook and Facebook profiles, or simply invite them via SMS, e-mail, Twitter (News - Alert) or Facebook. With text, photos, videos, emoticons and more, users can compose messages any way they want. Soon also available for Meego, S60, S40 and Windows Phone 7 devices, eBuddy XMS is currently available for iOS, BlackBerry (News - Alert) and Android users.

Recently, the company launched the latest in SMS technology. Instead of SMS, eBuddy brings us XMS, or extended messaging service, which allows a user to send unlimited mobile messages via an Internet connection. Using XMS, eBuddy allows users to include pictures, emoticons, colors and other rich features that go far beyond LOL and OMG. Once a user downloads the free app for their respective device (Android (News - Alert), iOS, BlackBerry), the app will cleverly be able to scan your contacts for instant use.
