Yorktel Takes Frost & Sullivan Honors for Video Communications Systems
January 27, 2015
Managed video services is a huge market, featuring both large numbers of competitors in the field and likewise large numbers of users ready to bring such services into play. Having the best products in the field, therefore, can help fuel major expansion efforts, and in turn, help a company gain a significant foothold even in a market that's saturated with competitors. That's why Yorktel recently got a slice of very good news, taking home top honors from Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert) in its annual Best Practices Award listings.
More specifically, Yorktel took home the 2014 North American Award for Product Line Strategy Leadership for its work within the visual collaboration field. This includes a variety of sub-services, ranging from cloud-based services and managed services to unified communications (UC) and video conferencing.
Frost & Sullivan's principal analyst, Robert Arnold, clarified why Yorktel took home the top honors, pointing out that Yorktel keeps itself focused on customer demands, as well as on changes in the overall market, to help ensure that its lineup of product offerings dovetails nicely to those various changes in the field. Arnold also noted that Yorktel has performed specific expansions geared toward expanding a global market, as its customers were making likewise expansions, and has also had a focus on developing vendor relationships with firms like Pexip and Vidyo (News - Alert).
Arnold summarized Frost & Sullivan's decision to award Yorktel by noting “With its diversified and competitive portfolio encompassing both traditional and next-generation services, Yorktel is well positioned to address current as well as long-term customer needs. Frost & Sullivan has therefore found Yorktel truly deserving of the 2014 Product Line Strategy Leadership Award.”
Yorktel's CEO, Ron Gaboury, meanwhile responded to Frost & Sullivan's award, saying “Such high praise and recognition from one of the most globally respected analyst firms validates our work and vision for Yorktel's future."Over the past 30 years, Yorktel has thrived through an ability to adapt to the changing needs of a global workforce. Video communications is no longer used solely for traditional calls from behind a desk or conference room, but rather for practical business applications such as improving customer service, interactions with medical patients and remote viewing of factory floors.”
On a certain level, this may sound like common sense. Yorktel expands its focus in a fashion its customers find most desirable, as it keeps its own focus specifically on the customer. This is why Yorktel is winning awards; it's got a very clear focus, and that focus pays off in the end. It takes a very clear focus to find out just what's needed, and to spot changes that may occur during development cycles—why be prepared to win the last war?—to modify new releases accordingly. Recently we saw Yorktel land ISO 27001 certification, and that kind of credential is just what companies are after in finding managed video services. But that's only the start of what Yorktel can offer, and that array of offerings is proving very welcome for its customers.
Yorktel made a name for itself in 2014, and with 2015 only recently begun, it's likely to prove another great year for the company with an amazing focus on customer needs.
