Imagine Communications announced a new partnership with Falcon IP/Complete that will allow Falcon to become a reseller for the ICE video platform. Falcon, as a reseller, will both sell and install ICE transcoding solutions to OTT, telco and cable service providers.

Falcon was chosen, according to Imagine, for its pioneering work in facilitating North American IP video deployments. The company has a 40-year history of designing and building network infrastructure for the telecommunications market.

“Falcon was the right choice for this implementation based on the overwhelming evidence of their exemplary capabilities, commitment to their clients and partners and deep experience with multi-vendor design utilizing industry proven products, specifically end-to-end IPTV (News - Alert),” observed Paul Butler, president of Media Three Corporation.

With Imagine’s ICE video platform, service providers have a solution designed to deliver multiscreen transcoding and linear IPTV broadcasting while using the lowest possible amount of network resources. Currently, over 20 million North American households stream content live over the ICE platform.

Service providers can use ICE to deploy more channels with higher picture quality. The platform will also manage the video demands of multiple devices including PCs, tablets and smartphones. ICE integrates video and audio transcoding with Picture in Picture creation, multiscreen transcoding and multi-format media streaming utilizing the same platform. Providers achieve reliability, scalability and quality from an all-in-one solution.

“We're excited to be working with such a well-known and respected company like Falcon IP/Complete and we anticipate this agreement will help accelerate the deployment of multiscreen IP video for service providers and ensure the highest quality of experience for their subscribers,” said Scott Solovei, Imagine's director of Market Development.

Service providers can obtain ICE as a one-rack unit (1RU) package or as a NEBS-compliant blade system by working with Falcon IP/Complete. “Imagine's demonstrated ability to secure the best picture quality, system density and reliability represents overwhelming evidence as a natural choice for an immensely compelling offering to our customers,” explained Falcon's VP of Sales and Business Development, Brett Fasullo.
