Multiplayer gaming online can be a great thrill; getting the opportunity to sit down and play with friends no matter where they are can be the highlight of the day for some. Recent rumors about the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Black Ops II suggests that the multiplayer experience could be a lot smoother and better than in some cases, thanks to the introduction of dedicated servers with live-streaming capability.

The leak in question, which reportedly came by way of an associate producer at Activision (News - Alert), is as yet unconfirmed and isn't likely to be before the game's release. But it wasn't just talk of upgraded, powerful servers running the multiplayer that emerged, but also talk of new weapons, perks, and other new things to hit the franchise.

Naturally, the big news is the dedicated servers, which will eliminate worries about host migration and similar problems, as well as the live streaming capability. No one--not even the ones who perpetrated the leak--is sure just how far the Kinect will work with the streaming system. Classes can now be engineered around how much equipment players want to carry around, and allows players to substitute perks instead of weapons, allowing users that eschew guns for a knife to have six perks instead.

New word dropped about weapons, including news about the Storm PSR shown in the E3 demo, as well as explosive-bolt crossbows, the SCAR assault rifle, and several others. Longtime players who were dismayed by the presence of grenade launchers--colloquially referred to as "noob tubes"--in previous matches, will be happy to see they have been removed in Black Ops II. Several levels have been also leaked, including some locations in Yemen, the nightclub seen in the Al Jinan single player match, and several others. There will also be a variety of grenades, as the combat axe--comparable to the tomahawk from Black Ops--makes a reappearance.

A variety of killstreaks are in play, as well as some new perks intermingled with the old. The Last Stand perk, however, seems to be removed, but the Flak Jacket perk is back.

The recently-released multiplayer trailer also looks impressive, and it's going to be a fair bet that workplaces should look for a sudden influx of colds and vacation days ahead of the launch of Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
