Verizon Adds iPhones and iPads to Devices for Its Viewdini Streaming Video Service

In case you simply don't have enough entertainment on your iPhone (News - Alert) or iPad, Verizon may have something new to offer you.

The company's viewdini mobile streaming content, formerly available only on Verizon 4G LTE smartphones and tablets, is now available on iPhone 4 and 4S, iPad with WiFi (News - Alert) + 4G or iPad 2.

Users with these devices can download viewdini and watch entertainment from 11 content providers, including ABC, Crackle, Funny or Die, Hulu (News - Alert)+, Netflix, Verizon Video and Vimeo. Verizon says there are more to come. The viewdini service can also be used in conjunction with 15 Android 4G LTE devices, providing access to 18 content providers with more expected to be added soon. 

Verizon's viewdini is a mobile video portal that lets customers discover and view video content on their device. Wireless customers already love to watch video on their devices; viewdini raises the whole experience to the next level, said the company in a blog.

More and more people are accessing mobile video today. 4G LTE (News - Alert) with its fast speeds and low latency – also known as “buffering” – is driving video consumption higher. As a result, this has increased demand for video created a need for a simple way to search for content across the Web and bring it to the forefront of 4G LTE devices.

“This is another example of how the power of Verizon Wireless’ (News - Alert) 4G LTE network and wide variety of 4G LTE devices is driving innovation,” said Kristi Crum, executive director of Marketing at Verizon Wireless, at the June launch of the viewdini service.

 “We continue to expand and enhance our content with our audience in mind, working with reputable content providers in order to bring a rich mobile entertainment experience to our customers,” she added.
