MobiTV (News - Alert), the provider of TV everywhere solutions in the U.S., is expanding its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operations by establishing a new hub in London as part of its continuing growth in the region. MobiTV co-founder and president, Paul Scanlan will be relocating to London and will be in charge of this new hub.
The company connects media reliably and securely anywhere at any time on any device and delivers a true TV everywhere experience, thereby reducing costs related to multiple platform services. Its connected media solutions efficiently optimizes for network conditions and easily delivers video and multiscreen media services across networks , operating systems and devices and in the process also manage associated rights.
MobiTV emphasized that it sees a wealth of opportunities for selling its solutions to TV providers in the EMEA region. The company recently announced upgrades to its TV everywhere proposal which included the addition of nPVR capabilities. Scanlan will be managing all aspects of the company's sales and partnership activity in the Europe, Middle Eastern and African markets from his office in London.
Scanlan went on to add that the EMEA market has got tremendous potential for IPTV (News
- Alert) and MobiTV, and he looked forward to playing a main role in the development of TV everywhere in these markets.
MobiTV provides tailor made solutions for IPTV operators, mobile TV and customers which include AT&T, Sprint, Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile (News
- Alert), US Cellular and TELUS among others. MobiTV also has a number of well-established competitors that include fellow Californian firms such as RGB Networks, Ooyala and Seattle-based Comcast subsidiary thePlatform (News - Alert). However, by its new relocation to London, MobiTV should be in a position to grab a huge slice of the EMEA market.
The CEO of MobiTV Inc., Charlie Nooney said that Paul Scanlan has been a driving force in the company since the evolution of MobiTV over 10 years ago, and that he is the right person to oversee the operations outside the U.S. He also added that they were excited about the growth of the company both in the EMEA regions and globally.
MobiTV is exhibiting at the International Broadcasting Convention 2012 (IBC2012) that is scheduled to take place during the first week of September, 2012 and Scanlan will be available for discussing MobiTV’s expansion plans.
