Mariner, a global provider of innovative IP video and TV solutions (IPTV (News - Alert) for short) who has delivered value to the expanding IPTV industry with its widely deployed service oriented IPTV monitoring solution, the xVu product suite, has announced that its xVu has been extended to use new functionality in broadband and IPTV service monitoring for the Microsoft (News - Alert) Mediaroom Client 2.2 IPTV Platform.

The combination of Microsoft Mediaroom, which is the Smart TV platform from Microsoft that provides Live TV, Video on Demand (VOD), and Interactive TV (iTV), and the Mariner xVu, a next generation service monitoring solution for IPTV, shows it is taking the next step to enable Telecom providers the ability for a full end-to-end solution to monitor the Quality of Experience (QoE) for each customer with IPTV – while being able to reduce capital and operating expenses and expand IPTV services.

Mariner took advantage of the latest release of the Microsoft Mediaroom to further improve  its xVu platform to equip the operator with troubleshooting tools and provide it with the know-how to proactively isolate IPTV network issues before they have a negative effect on the end user’s experience.

Deploying Mariner's xVu’s innovative service assurance platform -- an award-winning IPTV Set-Top-Box (News - Alert) (STB) service monitoring platform that received, this year, an IPTV World Series Award in the category of "Best Quality Improvement Solution”-- will provide the ready-to-use IPTV services across Microsoft Mediaroom's customer base to give subscribers the best of end-to-end DTV – “from TV and video services to new types of enhanced content and applications.”

Not only will the xVu solution ensure superior QoE for at-risk customers, but it will lower OPEX (News - Alert) costs too while providing a significant user experience for IPTV. IPTV operators can count on Mariner’s partnership with Microsoft to “take a customer-centric approach to achieving service excellence.”
