There’s been a lot of talk lately about how video communication is still in need of improvement. Polycom (News
- Alert) is helping it improve, with the new Polycom Adoption Services.
These four new services are made to help enterprises boost adoption and return on their investments of Polycom RealPresence video solutions. Built around an adoption methodology that Polycom developed, they provide consulting, an adoption portal, campaign and analytics to help employees embrace video communication and make it a part of their everyday workflow.
As the saying goes, “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink.” That actually begins to make sense when one looks at adoption of new technologies. Even if a company provides its employees with video communication solutions, there’s nothing to make those employees start using it, thus making the investment go to waste while they fail to gain the benefits from video collaboration.
While that’s not a problem for the tech-savvy employee, there are always those who are content with traditional methods of communication, and these services help them make the most out of the video collaboration tools at their disposal.
With Adoption Consulting, surveys and interviews will be conducted to figure out what your business environment needs, creating a plan for adopting over time, as well as a tool for measuring it.
The Adoption Portal provides a scalable and affordable alternative to on-site training, thanks to a range of video tutorials, FAQs and how-to’s.
The Adoption Campaign provides a promotional campaign for users, letting them know the value of video collaboration, and all the benefits they can gain from it.
As for the RealPresence Analytics, it provides a cloud-based reporting solution. This solution gains in-depth measurements and analysis to discover how well video collaboration is being adopted, and what it’s doing for the company.
“Today, Polycom sets a new standard by introducing new services specifically devoted to helping customers create a culture of collaboration across their enterprise and, in doing so, accelerate user adoption and their ROI from Polycom RealPresence solutions,” said Sudhakar Ramakrishna, president of products and services at Polycom. “Polycom Adoption Services, and the methodology on which they are based, focus on the user experience from the earliest planning phase through implementation and beyond.”
While these services aren’t for everyone, they should prove very useful for Polycom customers who are having trouble making the most out of their solutions. With consulting, training and analytics, the Polycom Adoption Services will certainly be beneficial for those looking to use video collaboration to its fullest.
