Vaillant Saves on Travel with Polycom RealPresence

Polycom (News - Alert) RealPresence is the video solution of choice for Vaillant Group, a global supplier of heating, climate control and ventilation systems. Polycom RealPresence will be deployed to let its thousands of employees across Europe and Asia communicate through HD video for improved efficiency and reduced costs.

Vaillant is already experiencing benefits from RealPresence, such as reduced time spent traveling. Its goal is to reduce one day business trips by 15 percent and two day trips by 5 percent, eliminating 700 unnecessary trips each year. Rather than traveling to meet for half a day, several departments in the Vaillant Group can hold monthly meetings from each of their ten sites, connecting to each other by video.

Employees are also benefitting from the improved communication and lessened need for travel, as they are able to hold face-to-face meetings across locations and time zones all from a single office, improving team engagement without needing to spend time traveling.

The reduced travel also helps Vaillant meet its environmental goals, with less carbon dioxide emissions from less traveling. Money, gas, and the atmosphere are all saved a little bit more each time a trip is avoided thanks to Polycom RealPresence.

Reduced travel is just one of the benefits of video communications, but it certainly seems to be helping Vaillant Group. They’re saving time and money thanks to Polycom RealPresence, and have seen improved efficiency as a result. The environmental benefits are also a nice added bonus from less travel. Polycom has certainly done a good job here.
