Dune HD, a provider of high-performance digital media players, recently announced a partnership with Beenius at the TelcoTV2012 expo. The two companies said the partnership will provide operators looking to deploy IPTV (News - Alert) and Video on Demand (VoD) with faster, low-risk implementation and more services.
The specifics of the partnership include certification of Dune HD's set-top boxes by Beenius, integrating them with the Beenius Beesmart interactive TV middelware platform.
Combined, these two products create an adaptable, integrated solution for both operators and system integrators.
Dune HD has managed to carve out a top position for itself in the home media player and set-top box market, selling around 500,000 units of its products to consumers around the world. Partnering with Beenius is the next step for Dune HD in moving toward the content delivery market, while making its full range of products available to operators and system integrators. The company's products appeal to operators due to their innovative range of features, customizable interface and small form factor.
As such, it is easy for them to deliver content to users.
Dune HD also offers hybrid solutions with support for Blu-ray and Digital TV.
"In an increasingly competitive broadcast world, successful operators need to provide customers with exciting and innovative new services while ensuring that deployment is rapid, risk free and powered by flexible and customisable technology," said Konstantin Dyshlevoy, CEO at Dune HD. "The combination of Dune HD's strengths in media player and set-top box hardware and the flexibility of Beenius' Beesmart middleware provides the perfect fit for their needs."
Beenius' Beesmart platform allows operators to provide an exciting social TV experience, while integrated tools allow for extensive upgrades and quick customization. The platform features a comprehensive application layer, allowing for interactive TV services, as well as converging TV, phone and Internet on a single platform.
Dune HD also recently partnered with Verimatrix, making the latter company's Video Content Authority System (VCAS) IPTV solutions and ViewRight security client now available across Dune HD's media players.
