A display developer announced that it is getting into the television market. AOC, which is a branch of the Taiwan based TPV Technology Limited, announced their entry into the television market thanks to a partnership with Firebird Distribution. The two companies will work together to get the new AOC LCD/LED televisions in the Central Asia and Transcaucasia Region.
This is hardly the first time the two companies have forged an alliance as they have long been working together for the successful distribution of AOC computer monitors. The television distribution agreement for the CIS region including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, means that AOC clearly trusts the distribution company to a great degree.
Firebird, which is a Dubai based company, has been a successful distributor in their particular region especially when it comes to AOC computer monitors. Because AOC feels as though they have cornered the market when it comes to LCD monitors in the region, the company is taking on another endeavor within the television market. Wing Wang, product manager - MEA & Central Asia, AOC said in a recent statement, "We are happy to expand our relations with FireBird and we are sure that we will also be able write a similar success story in Television business. Central Asia and Transcaucasia is one of the fastest growing regions in the world and with the demand for LCD/LED TV's gaining momentum, we are confident that we will corner a reasonable market share in the TV market too."
AOC is looking to launch several new models of televisions that will compete in the high demand areas of OLED, 3D TV's. The company expects to penetrate the market quickly thanks in large part to its success in the computer monitor market.
