- Alert) TV, your wait may be over. Music and movies from Google Play will reportedly be available on Google TV in Germany, France and the U.K. later this month. If you’re in Italy or Spain, however, you may be out of luck. Google has apologized for saying in an earlier blog entry that the service would be available in those two countries.
“Starting November 13, Google Play music and movies will now be available on your Google TV in the United Kingdom, Germany and France,” said the company, adding, “We’re sorry for an earlier post that said we’re launching in more countries on 11/13, but stay tuned as we’re bringing Google Play to more countries all the time.”

A Google TV equipped Blu-ray player from Sony will come to these markets early next year, according to Broadband TV.
While Google is expected to add additional countries to Google Play by end of December, securing the right licenses to do so has proved to be a headache for the company.
The company launched its content store on Google TV in the U.S. in October.
