Dimenco is a company that was founded by four people, based in the Netherlands. They used to work together at Phillips, based in the Amsterdam, on 3D technology. Once the project was discontinued, they started Dimenco and continued their work in 3D technology. They have since developed a good relationship with Phillips as they strive to become the leading 3D technology company in the world. Their focus is in 3D viewing without the use of glasses.
On January 4, 2013 Dimenco unveiled Dimenco Nabla. It is the ultimate Full High Definition (FHD) glasses-free 3D experience. One of the founders, Jan van der Horst, Dimenco’s CTO said, “Dimenco Nabla is the result of optimizing the proprietary Dimenco lenticular structure in combination with UD (3840X2160) panels. This provides the first glasses-free 3D FHD experience without compromising on, for example, brightness or viewing angle.”

CEO Maarten Tobias, also one of the founders, said, “Dimenco Nabla will open-up the glasses-free 3D TV market and will offer the best auto-stereoscopic FHD 3D experience and still offer FHD 2D. Dimenco has overcome one of the biggest hurdles for watching 3D without limitations, and we expect that this technology will enter the consumer market in 2013.”
Glasses-free displays have had to strike a compromise on perceived resolution. This was a problem because conventional lenticular structures multi-view visualization heavily impacted the 3D resolution. The lack of quality resolution is why you need the 3D glasses. Additionally, the small details were lost in 2D and the lens structure was considerably visible when looking at the screen.
By combining Dimenco Nabla and Dimenco Clear View people can experience glasses-free FHD 3D with the deepest black levels, no brightness loss and widest viewing angle offering what they consider to be the ultimate glasses-free 3D displays.
Dimenco will be at CES (News - Alert) in Las Vegas January 8-11, 2013. They will be demonstrating the Dimenco Nabla in a private suite at the MGM Grand. There glasses-free 3D technology is ready for licensing. They will also be introducing several new products. Some of the products that you can see at CES are a glasses-free 3D Retina MacBook and an 11.6 inch glasses-free 3D display that can be used in either portrait or landscape mode.
Dimenco’s goal is to produce sharp, clear and ultra-high resolution displays that will not require the use of 3D glasses. At the same time, they offer the viewer a resolution that will display all of the details in both 3D and 2D viewing.
