 Everybody in the digital industry is trying to figure out how they can turn every product into a social media device, and the television has been there primary focus, creating the new trend “Social TV.” Along with the social aspect, a new marketing revelation in the advertising industry has put television neck and tie in the race between the competing industry.


 Users of these Social TV apps are watching TV and engaging in social media essentially now in one place. And where everybody goes, marketers are sure to follow.

In the past few years, there has been a variety of social networking apps, like GetGlue or Quips, which allows users to watch, discuss and share TV moments with friends. These developments were the beginnings of the Social TV revelation, and like with any trend, it has been taken to heightened levels by competing industries fairly quickly.

With the launch of Ad Sync, ConnectTV has created a way for television advertising networks to utilize their app to offer users the instant gratification and get it now option that web-based advertisements offer. According to Yahoo, the leading local affiliates of ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and CW will be the first to participant in this new advertising connectivity.

Connect Ad Sync transforms a television advertisement into a personal experience, giving viewers the ability to instantly buy what they see, enter contests, get promotional offers, find the nearest stores and receive marketing alerts. ConnecTV synchronizing to all Web, iOS, Android (News - Alert) and smart TV platforms, giving Ad Sync the potential to reach viewers on a variety of devices.

With every new development in the world of technology another industry has the chance to thrive off it and thrive off of each other. As we have seen with ConnecTV, social media and television advertising companies, the future moves forward in a synchronizing fashion no matter what industry it is.
