Broadview Picks TNS Calling Name Service for Caller ID

By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor

Business communications service provider Broadview Networks said that it is helping its customers log calls more effectively after signing up for Transaction Network Services’ (News - Alert) (TNS) Calling Name Service (CNAM).

TNS (News - Alert) is a global provider of data communications and interoperability solutions. Broadview already uses TNS’ SS7, 800 Toll Free, and CLASS services. The company turned to TNS when it was time to renew its service agreement for a CNAM supplier.

“The company has worked with TNS for the past seven years and we continue to be impressed with the high level of service they deliver,” said John Carr, senior vice president at Broadview Network in a statement.

Carr said that when it came time to revisit the CNAM database contract, “we were delighted to learn that TNS had one of the largest and most extensive databases in the US, capable of meeting all of our stringent service requirements.”

Since going live with TNS’ CNAM service, there has been a noticeable reduction in the number of calls into the company’s customer care center as it has improved the quality of the caller ID service, Carr said.

With caller ID service, Broadview has been able to improve the communications services it supplies to the corporate and small business market. Company officials said that as a direct result of switching to TNS’ CNAM service, fewer calls are being routed into Broadview’s customer care call centers due to unavailable or incorrect CNAM responses. This has allowed the company to deliver an overall improved service experience to its customers, it said.

Thanks to TNS’ CNAM service, communication service providers can deliver accurate caller ID information for virtually all calls nationwide. TNS hosts and accesses data sourced from the provisioning operator. The company noted that in addition to contributing to subscriber satisfaction, this commitment to data integrity shield customers from unwanted call center activity.

Broadview Networks (News - Alert) (News - Alert) is a network-based business communications service provider. It delivers local and long distance voice communications, premises-based and patented hosted VoIP systems, traditional telephone hardware, high-speed Internet services and a full suite of managed services.

Last year in December, Packet Design announced that Broadview Networks deployed Packet Design (News - Alert) VPN Explorer to manage their IP network that provides business customers with VoIP, Internet, VPN, and MPLS-enabled data communications.
