By Jai C.S., TMCnet Contributor

Ooma, Inc., a provider of consumer electronics device enabling free, U.S. telephone calling and advanced telephony services, has reportedly announced two enhancements to its product and services lineup – Ooma Telo Handset and international calling bundle, which offer increased functionality, call quality and additional cost savings for consumers.

With this, Ooma is said to have created an international calling bundle for premier level customers, offering savings on international calls and a handset, which enables users to operate all of their favorite Ooma features from the palm of their hand.

“Every home is different. By offering new choices in device form factors and options for extending phone conversations around the world, Ooma continues to provide features and functionality that exceed consumer’s expectations in a phone service,” said Rich Buchanan (News - Alert), chief marketing officer at Ooma.

“The Ooma Telo Handset marks our foray into offering a phone form factor that leverages our technology leadership to further advance the home phone. Our international bundle offers the affordability and flexibility to stay in close contact with friends and family regardless of the miles that separate them,” added Buchanan.

Each Ooma Telo is said to support up to four handsets. The new International Calling Bundle, which is available for Ooma premier customers, allows Ooma users to place calls to friends and family in over 70 countries and talk up to 500 minutes for the low rate of $4.99 per month or less than a penny per minute.

Key features of the newly announced Ooma Telo Handset includes; DECT (News - Alert) 6.0 – which facilitates high sound quality, security and range without interfering with Wi-Fi networks or other home electronics; online phonebook which allows users to download personal contacts to the Ooma Telo Handset and also access it online; speakerphone enabling hands free talking making it easy to multitask while taking a call, company officials said.

Apart from this, customers can also get service like caller ID, call log, one-touch Voicemail access, docking station and so on. Added to this, the premier features include; Instant second line where users can make or take a second call on another phone without having to interrupt their first call; facility to personalize their handset with your own number and voicemail box and facility of call screening.

Reportedly, the Ooma Telo Handset can now be purchased from any Ooma authorized retail locations and leading online shopping destinations for $49.99. Ooma Telo is priced at $249.99. Optional Ooma Premier costs $119.99 per year ($9.99/month). Customers are also given a choice to sign up for one year of Ooma Premier and receive a free Ooma Telo Handset or a free number transfer.
