Looking to offer a complete end-to-end network infrastructure solution for businesses, Edgecore Networks, a joint venture between LG-Nortel (News - Alert) and Accton, has announced that the company will enhance its wired and wireless data networking solutions and integration of voice communications to roll out a comprehensive suite of network solutions and services.
For the last 30 years, the company has been successfully providing business-class wired and wireless networking infrastructure solutions for small- and medium-sized businesses.
10G SFP+ Switch Solution, a complete converged voice solution iPECS, will be launched y Edgecore along with service offerings that are designed to leverage the company's expanding channel presence. The product solutions will be joined by a new partner program designed to provide partners with growth opportunities. Offering seamless roaming and central management, Edgecore's new Wireless Multi-Access Business Gateway (News - Alert) (MBG) is designed to provide a secure wired and wireless infrastructure.

"Edgecore, which has a 30-year legacy as SMC Networks (News - Alert) in the manufacture of business-class data networking solutions, brings to the table a broad portfolio of reliable, feature-rich, value-packed data networking solutions."
Edgecore's wireless LAN solution intelligently controls up to 150 wireless access points throughout a building or small campus by combining both a gateway and wireless controller into a single unit. This also offers high-performance wireless access for small businesses up to enterprises with more than 500 securely connected users. Edgecore will also launch a full portfolio of network-enabled voice solutions, leveraging its new relationship with LG-Nortel.
In December 2009, the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport in Charlottesville, VA, selected a new Wi-Fi infrastructure powered exclusively by wireless networking equipment from Edgecore Networks (News - Alert), formerly known as SMC Networks, to provide a better service to its customers. The new wireless network infrastructure provides an 802.11a/b/g infrastructure that supports any standards-based Wi-Fi device. It also provides high speed reliability within the airport premises for the passengers.
