Sonus Networks will be showcasing its new intrusion prevention technology at the International Contact Center Expo and Conference taking place this week. This new technology from Sonus Networks (News - Alert) helps call centers to protect their operations from voice-based intrusions and malware.
Sonus combines the security of an SBC, the protocol interworking of a media gateway, the rich transcoding of a media server, and the session management and call control of a softswitch into a single, scalable border element.
The company will be available to discuss the implications of the new voice intrusion prevention technology for protecting contact centers from voice- oriented attacks as the company showcases this technology in booth 619 at the International Contact Center Expo and Conference. Mykola Konrad, director of product management for Sonus, will moderate a track on Technology Trend at the conference.
“While data security vendors focus on securing the data network, they are largely blind to attacks that come into the enterprise through the voice network," said Mykola Konrad, director of product management for Sonus. "However, vishing, spam over Internet telephony (SPIT), spoofing, and other voice-based IP attacks are extremely dangerous to the enterprise and can co-opt the voice network or use it as a point of access.”
During his speech, Mykola Konrad will speak about "Incorporating Flexibility and Scalability into Your Existing Contact Center Technological Infrastructure.” The speech will focus on issues such as setting parameters for scaling down to preserve customer service excellence, evaluating capabilities of cloud technologies prior to implementation and preparing for change within your contact center and managing expectations, he company has stated in a press release.
Recently, the company claimed that its NBS5200 and NBS9000 products were awarded Miercom Performance Verified Certification by Miercom Labs, an independent product test center. According to the company, this certification proved that Sonus's Network Border Switches delivers extraordinary performance even under the most adverse of conditions where other products often exhibit significant performance breakdown. The Sonus NBS9000 allows operators to satisfy all their security, session border controller and media services requirements.
