Global IP Solutions, a provider of HD voice for mobile VoIP, announced that it has been selected by LG Electronics (News - Alert) Mobile Communications to provide voice and video processing technology for its Fixed Mobile Convergence solution.

LG Electronics has integrated VoiceEngine Mobile from Global IP Solutions (News - Alert) to add cutting-edge voice capabilities to its FMC application.

VoiceEngine family consists of comprehensive, packaged solutions that handle all the necessary voice processing tasks for IP networks, providing superior voice quality even under adverse network conditions, the company said.

The solution allows application developers, service providers and hardware manufacturers to easily build complex voice processing technology into their solutions, without worrying about the effects of delay, jitter, packet loss, background noise and echo.

The Voice Engine Mobile includes advanced acoustic echo cancellation or "AEC" technology. Good AEC implementation is critical to improve quality of voice calls on mobile devices, company officials said.

FMC provides telecom operators with the ability to combine fixed telephony, cellular telephony and broadband into unified end-user services.

By implementing GIPS HD voice technology, operators can offer a great communication experience and overcome the issues related to network, bandwidth and delays.

According to LG officials, GIPS' strong local support and expertise team in South Korea ensured a smooth implementation of voice processing technology in their smartphone model SU210/KU2100/LU2100for FMC solution.

"We're delighted that GIPS' technology enabledLG to develop innovative products which lead the mobile trend and enhance users' everyday lives," said GIPS' chief executive officer Emerick Woods.

In April GIPS announced GIPS VideoEngine for Android (News - Alert) and became "the first" to bring video chat to Android mobiles, according to a news report

GIPS VideoEngine for Android provides mobile developers the vital building blocks for integrating video conferencing/video chat into applications running Google's (News - Alert) Android mobile operating system, the company said.

Earlier in May GIPS signed an agreement with Cisco WebEx Solutions, a provider of Web conferencing, online meeting, video conferencing and Webinar applications, TMCnet reported. Company officials said that the agreement includes platform fees, support and royalties.
