Aastra Inks Partnership Deal with Telchemy

By Jai C.S., TMCnet Contributor

Aastra, a company that develops IP-PBX (News - Alert) systems for small business as well as a complete line of analog, SIP, and wireless endpoints for organizations of all sizes, has signed a partnership agreement with Telchemy (News - Alert), a developer of technology that enables service providers and major enterprise to deploy and manage Voice over IP, Video over IP, Audio/ Video Streaming and Networked Game services.

As per the terms of this agreement, both the companies have agreed to resell two products, DVQattest and SQmediator, which provide performance testing, monitoring and real-time reporting for VoIP interactions.

Aastra (News - Alert) is always looking for products and services that improve the customer experience,” Tim Whittington, executive vice-president and general manager, Aastra USA, said.

“We believe that these products from Telchemy provide great added value for both our direct and indirect channel customers,” Whittington added.

These two products are made available to Aastra’s directly managed customers.

The company is also planning to extend its offering to Aastra’s USA distributor, reseller and carrier customers later this year.

DVQattest is a distributed active test product for Voice and Video over IP that supports pre-deployment testing, network assessment, SLA monitoring and troubleshooting. DVQattest is based on VQmon, Telchemy’s widely used VoIP/IPTV (News - Alert) performance analysis technology which provides accurate quality scores and a rich set of metrics for voice calls, video sessions and network tests.

SQmediator is said to be a high performance mediation server that provides centralized collection, aggregation and correlation of QoE/QoS reports from IP endpoints and gateways. The SQmediator dashboard makes it easy to monitor call performance across the network and to quickly identify potential problem conditions and view system alerts.

“We are very pleased to partner with Aastra,” Alan Clark (News - Alert), chief executive officer at Telchemy said.

“Their focus on open-standards based products makes Telchemy’s products a natural fit to provide their customers with real-time, actionable information to detect any problems affecting user perceived quality. Together we are providing tools to support deployment of VoIP into enterprises of all sizes,” Clark added.
