TalkSwitch Upgrades VoIP System Offering

TalkSwitch (News - Alert), an inventor of phone systems for small and multi-location businesses, today announced the release of TalkSwitch management software version 6.10.

 
The free upgraded version is equipped with new call handling features, making TalkSwitch systems “more customizable,” according to the company. In addition, according to company officials, this newest version simplifies the installation of IP phones and adds new diagnostic tools.
 
The 6.10 version makes adding of Analog and even IP phones easy, officials say. Officials said that users need to connect them to the system and they are automatically detected, and also configuration is instantaneous.
 
Additionally, a firewall test can be conducted to ensure the network is optimized for VoIP calling, and this test can save “hours of troubleshooting” and offers benefits to do-it-yourself end-users, system administrators and installers, according to the company.
 
Also, the 6.10 software allows for up to 100 system-wide speed dials – important numbers that can be reached from any phone connected to the TalkSwitch, according to the company. In addition, users have the ability to set call handling rules based on the incoming caller ID, company officials say.
 
This, officials said, allows users to do things like block telemarketers, or have inbound calls automatically routed to the appropriate regional sales division. Also, this version also comes with hotline, which is beneficial for hospitality type services which enables pick up of a phone and instant connection to an operator.
 
Other options include front desk or taxi service and new hunt group balancing and overflow that help ensure that the organization is “efficiently using of their PSTN and VoIP lines in harmony,” according to officials. Software 6.10 supports the new TalkSwitch extended warranty coverage.
 
Saying that Software 6.10 is a “great advancement” for resellers and customers, Jan Scheeren, president and chief executive officer at TalkSwitch, said that it adds great functionality and provides new diagnostic and configuration tools that make setting up and maintaining a TalkSwitch system “incredibly” easy.
 
“The features built into this new software are a clear indication of our continuing commitment to delivering the most owner-friendly and vendor-friendly systems on the market,” Scheeren said.
