VOXOFON (

“VOXOFON has pioneered similar applications for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry (

“VoIP technology offers great savings for international calling, but until recently it hasn't been readily available on mobile phones, whose users have traditionally paid a premium for long distance service," said Goloshubin. "We are very pleased to be able to add Palm Pre users to our smartphone customer base."
The company said there are absolutely no contracts, no monthly fees, no service charges, no extra or hidden costs linked to service, and the connectivity is independent of Wi-Fi coverage. This means the app works anywhere the phone has coverage, and has rates that start as low as 1.3 cents per minute with allowed connectivity initiation via smartphone, computer, landline, or cell phone.
With other handset sales struggling to grow substantially, companies are
ramping up their marketing strategy for selling smartphones. This, coupled with a reasonable consumer acceptance in Q408, augurs well for the future of smartphones.
“As smartphones have become increasingly popular, the demand for such applications has increased," said Goloshubin.
Last year, VOXOFON
launched a similar service for use on Android (
