Ditech reportedly has become one of a select group of telephony-focused developers for Bandwidth.com’s newly launched Developer Sandbox Program.
As per the agreement between the two companies, Ditech’s toktok Voice Web technology is being piloted on Bandwidth.com’s VoIP network. This pilot is expected to give developers and beta users first hand experience of toktok’s anytime voice-enabled access integrated into enterprise applications.
Ditech’s toktok application server and mStage media processor have been integrated into the Bandwidth.com network, and this will help developers participating in Bandwidth.com’s Developer Sandbox Program leverage Ditech’s innovative services for new apps.
Bandwidth.com’s enterprise customers can benefit from Ditech’s initial toktok applications that will allow them to find contacts in their address book, create new tasks, and take voice notes.
T.R. Missner, chief technology officer of Bandwidth.com, said professionals have become heavily dependent upon the usability and Internet features of their mobile devices. This dependency indicates that service providers must innovate to catch up with these growing business needs.
Missner said that the integration of toktok’s Voice Web solution into their Sandbox will help test their vision of catalyzing the next generation of telephony applications.
“By offering open access to innovative companies like Ditech, we can help developers push the envelope on what they can build,” Missner said in a statement.
According to Karl Brown, vice president of marketing of Ditech Networks (News - Alert), both partners have a common vision of an open network where telephony is integrated into cutting edge applications and mashups.
“We look forward to partnering with Bandwidth.com to extend the availability and utility of toktok,” Brown said in a statement.
Ditech Networks is a global provider of mobile voice processing applications. The company has also signed a strategic relationship with SimulScribe (News - Alert). Ditech Networks has now become the exclusive global marketing and sales partner for SimulScribe's voice-to-text applications to service providers and enterprises.
