Alert) 6.0 handset which will be available from Mid-November. Ooma offers unlimited calling to anywhere in the US on Ooma devices. Ooma Telo devices are new in the Ooma lineup following the Ooma Core home phone system.
Ooma offers free phone number, optimized call quality and international calling rates besides being easy to setup. The Telo router has been enhanced to include new features such as the online phonebook which can be synched directly into the Ooma Telo handsets. It also offers built-in support for Ooma HD Voice and Telo Handsets.
Consumers will benefit from Ooma features like free US local and long distance calling over the Internet. By using a high-speed Internet connection and normal home phone Ooma consumers can start making calls within the US at no monthly fees. Also Ooma eliminates the need for a PC or headset unlike other VoIP systems.
Ooma offers caller-ID, call-waiting, 911, new number, low-cost international calling rates, secure encrypted phone calls for privacy and the flexibility to keep a landline. The My Ooma Web portal allows consumer to view call logs and set calling preferences.
Ooma Premier, a suite of enhanced calling features which allows the user to hear voicemail and control preferences in the end user Web portal is also available. The end user Web portal also allows management of personal address book, purchase of additional subscription services and hardware accessories.
The premier service provides one-touch access to voicemail, call screening, remote access to messages via a Web browser or telephone, and voice mail notifications to the mobile phone. Ooma officials said that the Premier suite is now available for free trials.
Other features include voicemail MP3 file attachment which will be sent to the email address of the user, send-to-voicemail and do not disturb notification facility.
In a press release company sources explained that the Ooma system ensures a free home phone service with optimum voice quality and ease of use of a traditional landline phone. The system has been designed to work in tandem with the existing home phone and high-speed Internet connection to provide a calling service without the associated monthly bills.
Making calls is easy as there is no need for any code entry or logging onto a computer. The user has to use the home phone and just dial to place a call. The Ooma Telo handsets provide more innovative features and the Ooma Premier offers multi-ring, blacklists, virtual numbers and others.
