The United States Department of Health & Human Services - Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology has selected Acumen Solutions to provide a cloud-computing customer relationship management and project management solution.
To support the nationwide upgrade of the Health IT infrastructure, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 has allocated funding for medical providers to deploy Electronic Health Record systems.
And, ONC has been given the task of encouraging the adoption of health information technology. In addition, it has to promote nationwide Health Information Exchange to improve health care.
ONC is developing a network of Regional Extension Centers to “effectively” distribute available grants into the market. The grant is expected to provide regionalized support to medical providers for the selection and deployment of an EHR solution.
In order to track, manage and report on this effort, Acumen Solutions plans to implement a cloud computing CRM and Project Management solution from Salesforce.com. Across all REC, the solution will be used, according to company officials.
Company officials said that the solution will enable RECs to manage all interactions with medical providers related to their selection and implementation of an EHR solution.
