Sigma & Cedar Point to Provide VoIP Systems to Next Gen Operators

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

Sigma Systems, a major player in Advanced IP Service Fulfillment solutions, and Cedar Point (News - Alert) Communications, a worldwide player in integrated VoIP switching technologies for service providers, have entered into a partnership to provide Next-Generation Operators an integrated VoIP solution for faster commercial and residential deployments.

“Our Next-Generation Operator customers continue to transform their service offerings with innovative bundles, and delivering advanced residential and commercial VoIP services is a key competitive differentiator,” said Preston Gilmer, vice president of marketing for Sigma Systems (News - Alert), in a statement.

Gilmer said that the company’s work with Cedar Point will allow operators around the world to take advantage of two best-in-class platforms that have already been deployed together in a large-scale rollout.

Officials with Sigma Systems said that the company’s Service Management Portfolio of fulfillment solutions has demonstrated interoperability with Cedar Point's SAFARI C3 (News - Alert) Multimedia Switching System in a live, residential VoIP service offering with a major cable operator.  A truly successful rollout of a commercial services offering will require tight integration.

Company officials said that Sigma Systems and Cedar Point will be working together to provide this integration in the form of a complete end-to-end commercial voice solution for that same cable operator.

“As Cedar Point's product family continues to expand its footprint with wireline, cable and wireless service providers, partnering with Sigma Systems will allow our customers to seamlessly deploy the residential and business VoIP offerings faster,” said Jeff Walker (News - Alert), vice president of marketing for Cedar Point Communications.

Walker said that through the company’s partnership, customers will be able to roll out reliable services with productivity enhancing features quickly and economically.

TMCnet in February reported that Sigma Systems and Tribold (News - Alert) , a provider of Enterprise Product Management, or “EPM,” software, have entered into an integrated solutions partnership to provide telecom and cable operators with an end-to-end concept-to-product-to-cash solution.
According to company officials at Sigma, the joint solution from Tribold and the company gives next-generation operators a means for rapid product and service development and delivery by removing the back-office bottlenecks that impede the product creation-to-cash process.
