By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

BT (News - Alert) Conferencing is a well known provider of audio, video and web collaboration services around the world. Recently, the company announced that it has extended its Unified Communications (News - Alert) portfolio via the introduction of Kontiki's enterprise video solutions. These video solutions include live video webcasting and video on demand services.

In a release, Aaron McCormack, the CEO for BT Conferencing said that "Video is becoming a 'must have' tool for business communication programs, and the new BT solution offers a natural step for customers who are already using collaboration services and want to add or expand the use of live video webcasting or video on demand to their company-wide events."

With the help of this service, even the top multi-national organizations are able to quickly and economically send broadcast-quality video content to their employees' PCs irrespective of the network.

Some of the features include:

CEO all-hands town hall meetings: All employees can avail live video webcasting of company-wide events without the need of any network infrastructure upgradation.

Turning telepresence into "global presence": Helps to widen the investments in telepresence as well as desktop video conferencing systems. This encourages the viewership by enabling employees to view the conference live or to watch it on demand at a more convenient time

Any live video broadcast to employees: Using live video, the business unit executives, product managers, HR or the training department can reach a large audience of employees.

In a release, Eric Armstrong who is the President and CEO for Kontiki (News - Alert) said that "Video is delivering real ROI in the enterprise and doesn't have to be complicated - it can be as easy as email with no impact on existing network traffic. We are thrilled to help complete BT's leadership position within the Unified Communications category and leverage the growing demand for Unified Communications, enterprise video and social media."

BT's Unified Communications portfolio is designed in such a way that it helps the users to get real-time access to all forms of communication and collaboration services from multiple devices.

Kontiki's Enterprise Video Platform is already delivering business video daily to hundreds of thousands of global workers in many of the world's major companies in the financial services, retail, technology, telecommunications and manufacturing market sectors.
