Mitel (News - Alert) and Detron ICT and Telecom Groep have successfully completed the proof of delivery for VoIP solutions, to be included as a part of the Dutch government's OT2010 program. Communications systems across at least 100 Dutch government departments will be upgraded as part of the eight year project, OT2010. The project will also include the implementation of nearly 100,000 IP ports. Detron was awarded the contract in March 2012.

In a release, George Banken, CEO, Detron said, "We worked enormously hard with Mitel to complete the proof of delivery and ensure that we responded to all of the Dutch government's requirements. We are pleased with the positive outcome of the very thorough analysis conducted by representatives of OT2010, and we are ready to get to work for a large number of national government organizations in the Netherlands."

The OT2010 selection committee had laid down over 300 solution criteria for finalizing the contract. Detron and Mitel had to showcase their ability to fulfill these criteria before the contract was confirmed. The Dutch government examined in depth the telephone amenities along with contact center, unified communications and collaboration, unified messaging and fixed to mobile incorporation capabilities and service and security of the Mitel portfolio.

The Dutch government's previous cluster of VoIP solutions connected with the OT2006 program had incorporated Mitel IP technology. As a result, Mitel was awarded the OT2010 contract.

The proof of delivery was extremely extensive and complex and with our successful completion, we have again proven that our communication solutions can meet and support the requirements of government organizations now and in the future. Along with the in-depth knowledge and experience with large-scale government organizations of our implementation partner Detron, we are looking forward to a successful roll-out."
