VoIP Innovations Certified as RespOrg for Toll-Free Number Routing

VoIP Innovations (News - Alert), which provides wholesale VoIP origination and termination services to carriers, has been recently certified as a RespOrg, or Responsible Organization for toll-free services.


The growing demand for toll free numbers has led to the creation of additional toll free area codes including 800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844, 833, and 822. The RespOrg was created in 1993 as per the FCC (News - Alert) order to implement toll-free number portability. 

Toll-free origination support is much quicker, better, and faster when a VoIP wholesale service provider controls the toll-free numbers.

The certification provides VoIP Innovations with direct access to the Service Management System (SMS800) database, which controls the nations call routing on all toll-free calls. It allows the company to offer better integration and more reliable service than ever before. Customers can now quickly provision and re-route Toll-Free DIDs through VoIP Innovations Titanium III platform.

VoIP Innovations provide services to ITSP's, Hosted PBX (News - Alert) providers, call centers, calling card providers and other carriers.

To become a RespOrg, carriers must go through a certification process. Those who complete the certification are given internal training. They are also advised to complete BackOffice integration.

“As one of the nation’s largest VoIP providers, becoming certified as a RespOrg was the next logical step for us,” said Jason Tapolci, president of VoIP Innovations, in a statement.

“Giving our wholesale VoIP customers the peace-of-mind of knowing all their service wasn’t tied to one carrier, was very important to us. We can now offer redundancy on our Toll-Free DIDs,” Tapolci added.

As a RespOrg, VoIP Innovations has integrated fail-over protection for their toll-free DIDs and service. The company can also least cost route (LCR) their toll-free origination, which allows them to provide the lowest possible rates while offering reliable up-time.

Recently VoIP Innovations announced it has integrated its Direct Inward Dialing technology (DID) with IPsmarx (News - Alert) multi-tenant IP-PBX and calling card platform.IPsmarx has integrated the Titanium III API from VoIP Innovations into its platform. Following this integration the DIDs can be easily provisioned through Titanium III, which is described as “the industry’s leading back office.”
