Red Lion Expands Industrial Automation Portfolio

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Recently, Red Lion expanded its portfolio of industrial automation solutions with two new additions to its G3 Kadet series of operator interface panels.

Red Lion has been offering innovative solutions to customers for 40 years as the global experts in communication, monitoring and control for industrial automation. The company’s award-winning technology allows customers across the globe to gain real-time data visibility that promotes productivity.

Product brands provided by the company include Red Lion, Sixnet (News - Alert) and N-Tron.

To promote productivity in industrial environments through enhanced visibility, management and control, the new G304K2 and G307K2 panels provide complete Human Machine Interface (HMI) functionality for PLCs, motor drives and other communications-capable devices with high-resolution, wide-format screens.

Offering the same powerful multi-protocol conversion facilities as the previous generation, the following new G3 Kadet models provide enhanced functionality for both machine builders and end users.

4" G304K2 includes an Ethernet port (10 base-T/100 base-TX) and supports up to four Ethernet protocols from a list of over 70 supported protocols.

“Our new high-resolution 4- and 7-inch operator interface panels offer more capabilities at half the cost of many competing full-feature display panels," said Jeff Thornton, director of product management at Red Lion Controls. "With the addition of these new models, Red Lion offers customers a comprehensive range of HMIs for numerous industrial applications.”

The company recently added Wi-Fi capabilities to its Sixnet MobilityPro 5000 line of industrial cellular modems. The MobilityPro 5000 enables wireless communication with Wi-Fi equipped devices that include laptops, smartphones, medical data transmitters, fingerprint readers and more with the addition of 802.11 b/g wireless local area network (WLAN) functionality.

The MobilityPro 5000, the company said, is ideally suited for in-vehicle public safety, first responder and fleet automation scenarios.
