TMCnet VoIP Routers Week in Review

It was a busy week in the VoIP Routers sector. Here are some of the major stories from TMCnet.

TMCnet’s Allison Boccamazzo reported that small to medium-sized business (SMB), which are looking for technology to remain competitive, have found that implementing Microsoft Lync into their existing networks can bring highly sought-after advantages. Any SMB with non-compliant SIP phones, non-compliant IP-PBX (News - Alert), public switched telephone network (PSTN) lines, analog phones, integrated services digital network (ISDN) phones or fax, may find that replacing their existing or incompatible equipment with new Lync-certified equipment is usually too expensive and inconvenient in the long run.

But one company completely erases all of these issues typically faced with Lync integration.

In addition, Patton has become Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync-certified. Now, SMBs who want to implement Microsoft Lync into their existing networks can work within their current network without having to consider all of the various pieces which may not be compatible or Lync-certified, ultimately reaping the full benefits of unified communications (UC) with Microsoft Lync.

In another report, TMCnet’s Brittany Walters-Bearden said that Euphoria Telecom decided to launch an entirely new alternative wireless service. It will be an improvement, and will offer improved customer care and service call centers. It wants to woo back disgruntled customers.

Also, London's Gatwick Airport is looking to Xchanging to provide its own foray into telephony. The agreement was to last at least four years, covering not only the estate for the airport, but also the O2 (News - Alert) and BT estates, providing service for its customers and the airport itself. The start date on the contract is Oct. 1, 2012. Gatwick Airport used Xchanging for computer services in the past.

In 2010, Xchanging brought in Gatwick Airport's Network Managed Services system, and in 2011, it handled the End User Computing Services system.

And SolveForce has changed the way it views customer service. It is now a telecom agent. It provides telecom consulting and offers customer support and a choice of over 40 telecom providers. It is now offering service in Nevada as well.
