Santa Goes Digital with Vonage's Help

By Mini Swamy, TMCnet Contributor

There’s a festive nip in the air that’s awfully contagious. You just can’t help getting caught up in it, even if you’re a pessimistic fool like Ebenezer Scrooge, who doesn’t believe in gifting and giving. To add a little more warmth this season, Santa is going hi-tech, with Vonage (News - Alert) (VG) customers likely being the ones to benefit as a result.

Now, VG customers can actually call Santa all the way through Christmas Eve. Customers ultimately get the chance to dial Kris Kringle himself, reportedly stationed at the North Pole, by dialing 1-700-CALL-SANTA (1-700-225-5726). This offers Vonage phone users the unique opportunity to tell Santa exactly what gifts they want their stockings to be filled up with.

To ensure that these wishes are fulfilled, the phone message will be sent to the Vonage account holder's e-mail address as an audio attachment. That way, customers will get to see that the correct gifts go under the tree on Christmas Eve and everyone gets what he or she asked for.

And, the best part is still to come. Callers can actually track Santa’s movements as he delivers presents all around the world. In fact, they can actually see where Santa has already been and where he will be next.

Not a customer? No worries, as non VG customers can also visit the Vonage northpole website and get the same benefits as regular customers. So, watch your chimneys and your computers to find out when Santa will visit your neck of the woods next.

Vonage further launched new versions of their mobile app for both iOS and Android (News - Alert) phones that feature free app-to-app calling and international calling rates that on average, are 70 percent less than major mobile carriers and 30 percent less than Skype (News - Alert), according to their release notes on iTunes. What's nice about their mobile app is it lets you talk and text worldwide for FREE with anyone else who has the app.

In related VoIP news, Patton (News - Alert) Electronics recently revealed its all-new customer service support system, including its new platinum-level Premium Support and platinum-plus Premium 24/7 Support services, which take the company’s already unparalleled gold-standard free support to an unbelievable new level. Already offering free lifetime technical support is rare in itself, but by working with Patton-Inalp (Switzerland), Patton Electronics (USA) is extending its lifetime technical support with global 24x7 coverage – something that is even rarer in the electronic-telecommunications industry.
