Run Communications, a telecom, VoIP, and security distribution company based in St-Laurent, QC Canada will soon mark its 10th year in business. It marks amongst its customers installers, integrators, ITSP, interconnect and security system installers. Recently the company found a great way to celebrate the New Year by becoming a new distributor for Patton Electronics in Canada.

Based on the new distribution relationship, Run now has an increased selection of telephony solutions for all segemetns of its customer based, particularly integrators, resellers, and various service providers.

Ryan Mayoff, Vice President of Run Communications was extremely enthusiastic about the opportunity to distribute the Patton (News - Alert) (News - Alert) portfolio. He explained that, “Patton brings together a great family of scalable solutions for our resellers…Not only does Patton's SmartNode Gateway (News - Alert) (News - Alert) fill an important space in our portfolio, it also complements our existing partners such as 3CX and Yealink (News - Alert) to create well-priced, scalable and supported solutions for our client base.”

Patton’s SmartNode products provide enterprise-grade gateways, providing 1 to 32 FXS/FXO and 1 or 4 PRI models with options for built-in IP Routing and transcoding.

“Appointing Run Communications as a distribution partner demonstrates Patton’s intent to build market share in Canada,” Sean Gerrity, regional director North America for Patton, added in the statement announcing the partnership. “Run's proven knowledge and experience qualifies them to promote Patton’s SmartNode, BODi rS, and CopperLink solutions throughout the Canadian telecommunications and security markets."

"As a stocking distribution partner, Run makes local inventory available to all of Patton's VoIP and security partners in Canada,” he added. “We look forward to (a) long and successful partnership.”

Patton offers free tech support for every one of its products. There is also integration with 3CX. And Patton equipment is made in the United States.

Steve Dobrzanski, Director of Business Development for VoIP at Run stated, “We highly recommend Patton’s SmartNode gateways…In Canada, different central offices use different voltages for their analog lines and this seems to be a problem for other manufacturers’ gateways. It might work fine at one customer site, but then you have problems at another site. For some reason, Patton deals better with this issue than the other gateways. They are extremely reliable.”

The 3CX relationship is one that both Run and Patton are looking to leverage. In fact, and pardon the pun, Run will be holding a free webinar, 3CX & Patton: Integrating legacy phone equipment and POTS lines with 3CX, at 1 p.m. EST on Jan. 15.
