MyVoIPProvider.com Reveals Advantages of VoIP Services

By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor

MyVoIPProvider.com revealed five best ways by which customers can reduce their phone bills by using the less expensive Internet phone service, VoIP.

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) subscribers benefit from low rates as the service is delivered by simpler means, as the system does not need landlines or cell towers, greatly reducing expenses connected to maintenance for the provider.

Traditional lines leverage outdated infrastructure, the maintenance of which gets converted into higher subscriber bills.

Long-distance calls are also less expensive in both residential and business VoIP service, as VoIP uses the Internet, eliminating any difference in calling a local number or making a long-distance call. This enables VoIP providers to offer unlimited calling for a low monthly fee, said officials.

In most cases calls made within the U.S. and to Canada are enabled for free, while international calls are charged at a low per-minute fee by VoIP providers. Subscribers with relatives in foreign countries get a virtual number with a local area code in a different city or state.

Calls made to this number are not charged as long distance by their service provider.

Businesses benefit a lot from unlimited extensions and customized VoIP office plans by using the hosted PBX (private branch exchange), or an SIP trunking solution (Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert)). VoIP PBX enables cost savings on extension lines and provides businesses more customization options.

The service provider maintains the hosted PBX (News - Alert), eliminating worries regarding cost of ownership, maintenance and repair for the business subscriber. SIP trunking solutions give outbound VoIP functionality to in-house VoIP PBXs, ensuring payment of a smaller fee for a lower outbound calling capacity.

Telecommuting is another feature provided by VoIP service providers. Employees can make calls and access their voicemail from anywhere, as the auto attendant will route calls to the employee where ever they are.

This allows small businesses to save on overheads and allow all employees to work from home.

My VoIP Provider also announced the top three SIP trunk providers for 2013: Nextiva, 8x8 (News - Alert), Inc. and VoIP.com.

SIP trunking is a quick way to make all calls business VoIP calls, and allows companies the freedom to grow their business while also saving money.
